I understand I have been posting quite a bit about kitties and Laci lately.
It could get boring to the average person.
But, seriously, she is sooooo in love with kitties that I can't get enough of
watching, listening to, and photographing her interactions with them.
She even has what I call the "kitty" voice when she talks to them.
It is a super high pitched, sweet, little, tiny, baby voice she uses to talk to them.
Very different from the voice she uses to express most of her opinions lately.
So, hang with me for one more kitty story.
I promise it will be the last for a little while.
Mostly because I haven't taken anymore kitty pictures lately,
but also because I'm sure there are other things we do besides play with kitties.
Although, right now, nothing comes to mind.
Laci's play table has a compartment in it that I frequently stock with Cheerios.
A favorite food around these parts.
Always ready for a drive-by snack session.
It has become a morning ritual for Laci to spread her Cheerios all over the floor,
and then eat them off the carpet (gross!).
The ritual has also started to include the only cat in our house willing to tolerate Laci: Blonde Kitty.
Blonde Kitty, as I call her most times, had a litter of kittens a couple of years ago.
Having been a mother herself is the only reason I can come up with
to explain why she lets Laci completely torment her.
That, and the Cheerios that Laci feeds her every morning.
Laci has been known to try to lift Blonde Kitty by the hair on her tummy,
grab ears, paws, and whiskers,
and use Blonde Kitty as a pillow.
Bless little Blonde Kitty's heart, she does her best to tolerate Laci's affection,
and when it just gets to be too much,
she simply walks (or sometimes, runs) away.
Most of the time, in my life, I have a hard time letting things go.
I'm an analyzer, thinker, perfectionist.
When something goes wrong, I replay it in my head until it consumes my every thought.
However, there are some things where I have no other choice than to "let it go."
Like eating Cheerios off the floor.
Or feeding Cheerios to the cat.
Or taking Cheerios out of the cat's mouth and eating them.
Ok, that last one is a little gross.
But, really, I doubt either one is going to die from this occasional shared breakfast cereal.
And they both seem so happy about the whole experience.
