Ponytails, Pictures, and Tantrums

I think I may have been converted to a baby "antenna" lover. Mostly because they are the only thing she will leave in her hair for more than five seconds.  At least, she leaves them there so far.  Sadly, headbands have been out of the picture for a long time, and now she pulls out her clippies too.  If I can distract her for long enough that she forgets I put them in her hair, they might last an hour.  But I'm also converted because I guess they are kind of cute.  At what other point in a girl's life is it acceptable to wear pony tails sticking straight out of the top of her head?

I'm practicing with the new lens - loving that shallow depth of field.  Of course, it makes focusing on the right part of the picture that much harder.  And I was having enough trouble with that before. So now, I take even more pictures than before, but end up with even fewer good ones.  Have I ever said how much I love the fact that cameras are digital now?  Well, I'll say it now.  I love digital cameras.  Because there is no way on earth I could ever afford to practice this much on a traditional film camera.

One more thing.  Miss Laci has learned to throw a full on, crying, stomping, throw yourself on the ground tantrum.  At this point, I just try not to laugh at her.  It is sort of cute, but I certainly don't want to encourage it.  I know she just gets frustrated when she can't get exactly what she wants and she has no other way to express it.  I'm not really sure what I should be doing, but I'm pretty sure laughing at her isn't what the books say to do.  But since I threw out all parenting books and magazines when she was a month old, I'll just keep laughing.  And taking pictures.

  1. The bug antenna ponytails would be even cuter if you could get her to smile. She likes to be serious in her pictures lately...ok except the one with all six of her teeth hanging out of her cheesin smile.
