sometimes

Sometimes, history repeats itself and you just have to take a picture of it. I really didn't plan it, it just sort of happened. For some reason, this old picture of Laci has stuck in my head (one of the few things to survive more than three seconds in my brain), and the other day I noticed Mia was wearing the same dress, playing by the same door, at almost the same time of year. I had to take a picture. And in case you didn't already see it on Instagram or Facebook, here it is again.

April 2011

March 2013

And, just for fun, here's a few more with my "real" camera.

It's the little things in life. Right?

ugh

It has not been an easy week. Laci started getting sick last Saturday, then Mia on Sunday. Stuffy noses, runny noses, coughing, sore throats, achy bodies. No fun. Then Mia started running a fever on Wednesday, which I attributed to the shot she got the week before.  That lasted a couple days. And today Mia has a rash all over her body, so Roseola? Who knows. What I do know is that I'm done with sickness. Did you hear me, Sickness? Time to move on. I'm done with wiping noses and giving medicine to children who gag and occasionally throw up, and I'm completely done with playing nurse all night long. Done.

Oh, and also I just feel so bad for my little girl because she still sounds congested and her nose is raw and red and she says, "Mo Mo Mo" anytime I get near her with a medicine dropper.  For the record, "Mo" is "No" these days for Mia.

This is how you play when you don't feel good.

I did not get sick, because I'm the mom. And what am I gonna do? Take a sick day? Ha! But IF I were sick, I would have had sinus pressure, a stuffy nose, sore muscles, an annoying cough, and what feels like daggers in my throat. You know, IF I were sick. Which I'm not.

Sick or not, we tried to have some fun. Or at least that's what it looks like going through this week's pictures.

Not all pictures are of fun. Some pictures are of crying about not getting another piece candy, or something equally catastrophic. I can't remember the real reason she was hysterical.  But, she recovers quickly.

This is what snack time looks like when you're sick and don't really want to eat that Fig Newton, so you smash it in a million pieces.

I'm sincerely hoping this week takes a upward swing soon.

and now, back to our regularly scheduled program

My girls, our life, random stuff I take pictures of.

You know, the usual.

Forced sisterly love.

Flowers from my big girl.
She picks these for me every time we visit my mom.

Mia learned to dip.
And now she is obsessed.

I make Harper pose for me because she can't run away.

Laci was thrilled to eat outside last week.
Not typical March weather, but I'm not complaining.

Plenty of time just playing.
Notice the blurry mess in the background.

Laci calls this hairstyle "fluffy puppy ears."
She has fluffy puppy ears almost everyday lately.

And a few more random blossoms that found their way to me in my parents' orchard.
Makes me think a macro lens would be a fun addition.

Our regularly scheduled program also includes a new sickness in our house that includes lots of snot, coughing, runny eyes, and two cranky children.  I am hoping it passes as quickly as it appeared.

two months (or so) on etsy

I have been a little crochet obsessed lately. If you know me, then you've probably already seen these on Facebook, but, just because I can, I'm sharing some pictures of what I've been up to lately.

My etsy shop has been open for a couple of months and I'll say I've been pleasantly surprised with the number of orders. Just enough to keep a little busy, but not enough to get stressed, and with enough free time to work on new things.

Of course, now I'm running out of cold weather...wait! That's terrible advertisement. There is plenty of cool weather left, AND who says hats are only for cold weather?!? And babies are born all the time, so buy that baby hat for your sister, your friend, yourself, whomever is having a baby...just order a few sizes too big so it will fit this fall.

If this looks like a post of shameless self-promotion, that's because it is. I'm also going to ask a little favor of you. If you're on Facebook, and you haven't already done so, will you please click over and "like" my page. You can click here. I think it would be fun to hit 100 fans. Then you can hide me from your news feed. I do my best to not overload your feed with a bunch of stuff you don't want to see, so I would really rather you didn't hide me, but life gets cluttered sometimes and well, I understand.

Okay, end of self-promoting crochet campaign. Just one more thing ONLY if you have time...leave a comment down below telling me, what's your favorite item, what would you like to see more of, or what's your favorite accessory for spring/summer/fall/winter. You're awesome.

And the links, just one more time in case you missed them above:
