baby in a basket

As promised.
A baby in a basket.

Cute, chubby, a vision of health and sweetness.
Though I might be slightly biased.

Can you even see her scar?  I can because I know it's there.

And she is oh, so happy!
You can't fake a smile like that.

Big sister insisted on sitting in the basket as well, but refused to smile, or even look at me. She has an amazing ability to completely tune you out. She gazes off into the distance, clenches her teeth, and refuses to respond. She challenges me daily. Sometimes hourly. She will be a very strong woman someday.

Fellow bloggers:  Do you watermark your photos?  Just curious.

Up for tomorrow: an update on the house. That is, if time and life permit. Otherwise, it might be the next day, or the day after that, or February. We will see.

  1. Gorgeous pictures. Thanks for sharing. I was reading what you wrote about Laci and thinking that she and Ashie would get along great. Then it occured to me that maybe they wouldn't. They are both strong willed, independent and more than happy to be in charge. There would probably be a power struggle. ;) I take strength from the fact that I know Ashie is challenging now being so independent and stubborn at a young age but one day these will be amazing character traits in her. She will be a strong and independent woman and I am confident that when the high school years come I will not have to worry about a girl that goes with the flow and tries to fit in. She will pave her own path and be her own person, no matter what others will think. I just have to pray that she and I both survive the toddler years to allow her to reach the age where these traits are a blessing instead of a challenge. :)

  2. Comment to both Tonya and "Mrs.Finlay". Having 2 strong willed girls who are now grown up, I have to say that I still have to bite my tongue and clinch my teeth at times! And yes, all survived the teenage years, but I am still recovering!!! Love the positives of every stage because they are what get you through the teenage years.
    Much love,Michelle

  3. Oh my goodness... .Seriously? Is there anything better than a baby in a basket? No. I don't think there is. :)
