keeping busy

I reunited with my crochet hooks recently. Not so much for orders, no one really needs a beanie in August, but for my own baby this time. It's nice to make something that's sort of for myself. I find it amusing that I'm perfectly content to spend my evenings crocheting like some eighty year old lady. By the time I'm eighty, my eyesight and the arthritis I'm bound to develop will probably keep me from crocheting, so I might as well enjoy it now.

Baby boy has a new blanket that I sort of love. It was strange, and refreshing, to not include pink in a project. He also has a small assortment of hats that I've been working on, and two new crib sheets I made using this tutorial. Yes, I made crib sheets. No it wasn't cheap. It wasn't nearly as difficult as it may sound. In fact, I'd go so far as to say it was easy and they are super cute AND fit way better than any other sheet I've tried. So, it was totally worth it.

I think this might mean I'm nesting.

I see dirt everywhere and stuff that needs to be organized. Oh, and I mopped my entire house today.

So yes, nesting. Making stuff is fun. Cleaning, not so much.

  1. I LOVE new baby's afghan! You are right about doing needlework while you can. My work used to be very precise but now, even with glasses, just does not compare. It really is frustrating to the point of not worth it. I sew more now. You MUST be nesting, so many posts!!!
