{august 19} a fourth birthday recap

Miss Laci,

On your birthday...

We ate blue pancakes with sprinkles, just as you requested.

We colored and drew pictures, which I'm pretty sure is your favorite thing to do these days.

You wore your favorite Ariel nightgown for as long as possible, but mean old momma made you get dressed before opening your present.  You picked out your own clothes and asked for "fluffy puppy ears" in your hair.

Mia got a present, too, because that's just how we do things around here.

You opened your present and jumped on the bed.  As predicted, you didn't really care about the Rapunzel doll, it was all about the horse.  I wish it would always be this easy to make your dreams come true.

We played outside in the pool, fully clothed.  It was really hot and I let you pour water over my legs.

A helicopter flew by our house.  You and Mia were very excited, as if this doesn't happen almost every single day.

We sang silly songs and ate baby ice.  Mia was our DJ.

Your Grammy and Papa came to visit and brought you tiny ponies.

You took a bubble bath with Mia and washed your new tiny ponies.

Then, you and Mia and I snuggled on the couch together (daddy was at work).

I told you that no matter what happens, or what you do, or what I do, I will never, ever stop loving you.  Ever.

I sang Baby Beluga to you, like I have since you were just a tiny baby.  It amazes me how this song will still put you to sleep...if you are tired enough.

I think it was a pretty perfect birthday.  I hope you think so, too.

Xoxo, Momma
