january

I'm sitting here feeding my kids breakfast right now and I just had that happy, cozy feeling you get when you are content with life as it is.  I know, I just ruined the moment by picking up my phone to type, but I have learned that it is best to write when the mood strikes instead of trying to force the words when the time is convenient.

Anyway. I'm sitting here feeding my kids breakfast, one is pretending to be a puppy and the other is buckling and unbuckling her booster seat straps. I love good mornings like this. Everyone woke up in a good mood and is willingly eating their breakfast. It's the makings for a good day.

I really do cherish mornings like this. I am not looking forward to mornings of rushing to get kids to school on time. I know myself, we'll be on time for about two weeks, then mostly rushing around after that.

I haven't blogged much about our January and now here we are with January almost over. And honestly, we haven't done anything really big. It has been the kind of quiet, low key month I love.

Most day are spent hanging out with my mom, my sister, and Harper at one of our homes. We eat together, and chat, and keep each other company.  Kristina tries to nap if Harper will let her, and I like to squeeze Harper's growing squishies.

The girls play with the dog and toys, and if they're lucky, they convince me to play with them too.  I use the word "toys" loosely, as that can also include baby wipes, dog food, bowls, or empty cardboard boxes.

They love when their daddy gets home from work.  Daddies are good for pulling you around the house on a blanket.

And that pretty much sums up all of January. It's quite a thrill ride, isn't it?
