a fashion update

At this exact moment, the girls are I are on the road to the city for the weekend.  My cousin Doug graduated from college, so we are going to celebrate with family.  It is just as likely that at this exact moment I am running around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to load the car and kids without forgetting important items like White Blanket and my phone.

And yes, it is Thursday afternoon as I write this and I SHOULD be packing for our trip, but I'm writing a post that will publish Friday morning.  Why would a person do this?  Can you spell P-R-O-C-R-A-S-T-I-N-A-T-I-O-N?

So, I have the hardest time packing clothes for my kids.  I usually end up packing half their wardrobe, for no other reason than because I can't decide which outfits I like best.  And because I like to have a options.  Oh, and also because they are very messy and require frequent clothing changes.  Okay, that's three reasons.  None of which are practical.

And speaking of not practical, Laci has been into choosing her own outfits lately.  These outfits generally involve skirts and strange accessories and they make me smile.

On this particular day, she decided to put pink fuzzy leg warmers on her arms.

 

Leg warmers on the arms actually isn't a terrible idea.  Except that on this particular day, it was 95 degrees.

Oh, and the white socks with muddy brown shoes were her idea, too.  She calls them "Big shoes like grammy's."

Minutes after these photos, she crashed at the bottom of the slide and scraped her knee.

This is her "I'm hurt and sad" face.

Minutes after this sad face photo, she was happily stomping in the mud and her pink leg warmers, socks, and skirt turned brown.  Just like her shoes.
