So Many Firsts

Laci went on her first tractor ride with her daddy a couple of weekends ago. She wasn't too sure at first, so he just putted around the field. By the time she was done, I think she wanted to drive.

I think one of the funnest things about babies is that everything is so new for them and they are fascinated by every little thing.  Everything is fresh for them:  the first taste of ice cream, the first dip in the pool, the first time to touch something cold.  Even rocks and leaves and lint are exciting to a baby.  And did I mention strings?  Yes, strings are very interesting...at least to my baby.  Whether connected to something or laying on the ground, string is very interesting.

When Laci was playing with ice last weekend, she grabbed a piece of ice fresh from the freezer.  It stuck to her finger.  She shook and shook and shook her hand and it wouldn't come off.  She was getting a little upset.  Then the heat took over and it melted free.  Awwww, her first time getting frozen to ice.  I'm sure it won't be the last.  Who hasn't licked the freezer door just to see if you'll really stick?

She keeps creeping closer to her first birthday.  I've been telling her to slow down, but it isn't working.  I hope the thousands of pictures I've taken will help me hang on the memories of all her first firsts.
