friday phone dump {the saturday edition}

First things first. I went to the doctor yesterday, and while I'm not actually in labor, it appears my body is ready to go. I'll spare the details, let's just say that when labor starts, we will not be waiting long to head to the hospital (40 minutes away). And if you like details, feel free to ask me. After 2 1/2 kids, I'm left with very little shame and have no problem sharing details of body parts and functions. Also, can you tell what's on my mind pretty much 24/7 lately?

So while I wait for precious bundle #3, I've been trying to savor the time I have with my girls. Laci fell asleep at 4:30 Thursday afternoon...for the night (a side effect of waking up at 5:30 am and having a cold), so that left Mia in the spotlight for several hours before bedtime. To have the undivided attention of both her parents was more than she ever dreamed of, I'm sure. She was wildly entertaining, really, just showing off,  and being happy, and thrilled about not having to share anything. I thought she might not ever be ready for bed, but about 7:15, she asked for some milk and happily snuggled on my lap until she was sleepy enough for bed.

And Miss Laci is such a big girl lately, voluntarily helping more often and asking more questions than I have answers for. We had a conversation the other day about how we kill cows and cut them up into steaks to eat them. Gross, right? She wanted to know where meat came from and so I tried to tell her the truth in the nicest terms possible. She seemed okay with it, once I told her the cow doesn't feel anything when we cut him up. I skimmed over the fact that the cow doesn't feel anything because he's dead. I'm sure she'll figure it out eventually. She's also become worried lately about me getting old and dying. "Please don't get old and die!" she tells me regularly. And I'm not sure where this is coming from, but I assure her it's nothing her little four year old brain needs to worry about and then change the subject to something pink or sparkly or related to fluffy puppies.

I truly am grateful to have these two girls in my life. At some point each day I want to hide from them for an indefinite amount of time, but for the most part, they are pretty fun to have around.

And now, finally, the phone dump, minus captions, because I feel like I've already said more thane enough.

And now that I've added these pictures, I realize some of them could really use an explanation. But I think, just for fun, I'll let you imagine the story behind them.
