Our weekend started with a batch of pink play dough on Friday evening. Laci decided she wanted pink dough, so after promising she would not mash it in with the army green play dough, I agreed. Ten minutes later, she was happily patting, squishing, and forming with her daddy, while Mia wandered around with a blue elephant in her mouth.
She was enjoying her near-nakedness until she realized some pretty fun things were happening up on the table. But since she chooses to only eat the play dough, she was not allowed to join in.
We ended the weekend with pink waffles for dinner on Sunday. Laci's choice again. I think more dye is needed next time.
We fed leftover waffles to the fish - Leroy, a dozen or so goldfish, some perch, some minnows, some mosquito fish, and even a few frogs.
We had a lot of fun in between play dough and waffles, though not nearly as pink. We had a BBQ on Saturday. I made homemade hamburger buns - really easy and really good. I made a chocolate cake that I was hoping would be entirely consumed by our guests. It was not. It has been taunting me from the counter since I got up this morning. I stayed strong until about ten minutes ago. Two sleeping kids = cake eating time. It was really good.
I feel like there is more to say about the weekend, but I can't think of anything. We did a lot of sitting around playing with the kids, or actually, I should say, RUNNING around playing with the kids. They are not very stationary these days. We got a few little things done around the house, like hanging up curtains and putting covers on a few outlets that needed them. You know, really exciting things. Because that is just how exciting life has become for us. Curtains and outlets. And kids. And cake.
Oooohhhh love the pink pancakes!!!! Maybe I should try them in a house full of boys haha :)!!! See you soon!
