forts
Laci built her first pillow fort the other day. Ok, it was actually a month ago and I've just gotten around to loading the pictures, but that is beside the point. The point is, she pulled all the pillows off the couch by herself and had it set up pretty well before she needed my help. My sisters and I built forts a lot growing up. We had bunk beds for a while, so the bottom bunk always made an easy fort. We built forts with sheets and tables and chairs, we built them outside with sheets and clothespins strung over the swing set, and we even had the occasional appliance box that made a much longer lasting fort. Forts are one of my favorite memories from childhood.
Forts are perfect for reading magazines (upside down).
They're perfect for eating snacks, and storing toys and books, and even "deep" thinking.
And if you're almost two, and the fort falls down, you will most likely have a complete meltdown.
But that's OK, because your mom will help you rebuild and it will be almost as good as it was before.
Almost.
