"me" stuff
Remember a long time ago when I was talking about how gorgeous the morning light is right around sunrise? And then I said that I should take some pictures of that light. Well, I did actually take some pictures. It was over a month ago, but I'm just now getting around to posting them here. And I'm aware that most of you visit here to see pictures of the girls, but today, this is what I have. Because today is sort of all about me.
I did something today that I have not done in a long time. I shipped my kids off to my mom's for the morning so I could stay home and do something just for myself. I signed up for an online photography workshop that started today and I spent the morning sitting at my computer with a hot cup of coffee and my camera.
I am not home alone often. Ever, really. It was very quiet. I was able to absorb more information in that hour than would be possible in a week with the girls running around. It was good and also weird.
Since it's the week of Thanksgiving, it's as good a time as any to say how grateful I am for my parents and especially for my mom. It is because of them that I am able to take this workshop, and that I am able to do so without worrying about my girls. My mom has always believed that I can do anything I put my mind to. I wish I could say I have the same confidence in myself that she does. And I know she believes in me with her whole heart because that is exactly how I feel when I look at Laci and Mia. I look at them and know they are capable of doing great things. I hope I can build in them the confidence they will need to pursue whatever their little hearts desire.
Speaking of my mom, she has added some new aprons to her Etsy shop since I last posted about her, some half aprons and some full aprons. So, if you're looking for a cute, handmade gift for that special
cook on your list, click HERE. She's open to new ideas as well, so if you have a theme in mind, send her a message. She just might be able to create what you're looking for.
And now, before I get too ramble-y (like I am known to do), I am signing off. Although it is only Monday, it feels like a long week already, in a good way. As if time has slowed so I can enjoy one of my favorite weeks of the year, and that is exactly what I intend to do.
