fishin'

One of the perks about having ponds in your yard, and having them stocked with bass, is you can go fishing whenever you want (almost).  And you are almost guaranteed to catch a few.  But, there is no guarantee your children won't be terrified of the fish once you catch one.  That they won't cry and run away when you approach them with their catch. 

The girl's got their very own pink Disney princess fishing poles today.  Yes, Ryan bought two.  There is no point in trying to make them share anything these days.  Laci didn't want to stop fishing, even though she wouldn't get near the fish.  Mia, my little technical genius, was most interested in pushing the button on the front, not so much in reeling her line back in.  Not to worry, she was not armed with a hook, just a worm.  Which I personally found aggravating when I got two bites on her worm and absolutely no way to reel in my catch.

 

I just want to take this opportunity to say that it takes quite a man to rock a pink fishing pole like that.  HA!

The final tally of the day:  Ryan - 3, Me - should have been 2, Laci - 1, Mia - 0.  But really, the fun was priceless.

Oh, and look, spring is on its way.
